I would dare to describe Elpine‘s latest EP, ‘Veil,’ in just three words: deep, dark, and melodic. As a matter of fact, lovers of underground electronic music will appreciate the intricate sonic textures featured on this three-track material. For another thing, the Canadian-based Producer and Visual Artist marked his grand debut this year with a Techno gem called “Sprinter.”
Actually, ‘Veil’, represents not only his second EP but also an advancement for his career as he tries something out of the ordinary. Naturally, there’s a balance between synths and drums, delivering a good dose of suspense in the atmosphere. Scroll down and read my track-by-track review if you’re into purely instrumental melodies.
1 — Veil On the title track, I really like how the haunting laidback beats gradually take shape into a strong pace. Despite this, he keeps a chill aesthetic, but kinda futuristic too.
2 — Sapphire Here he showcases a more techy side in comparison with the first track. The punchy flow will make you wanna move your whole body. Some others will prefer just to bop heads, but in both cases, he proves this is the most energetic cut from the EP. Definitely, I can see this song getting club plays.
3 — Terrasect There’s no doubt it has a cinematic quality from the very beginning. Moreover, eerie elements create tension that result in an ear-pleasing experience. Most importantly, it evokes images of a Sci-Fi/Horror world, which feeds your imagination even more…
Overall, my final rate is 10/10.
