Published

on

Petter Andersson (DJ PSON) and Elias Dahlgren (Dahlgren) together under the name Vonairs started DJing and producing House music when they met at the music school SAE Institute in Stockholm late 2012.

Based in a studio in Östermalm, Stockholm, they are now working on a lots of brand new unique House music to be made in Sweden.

Vonairs is a dynamic and newly composed House music duo who mainly produces Progressive and Big Room House music. The new single “Fucamo” is unique House music to be produced by Swedish DJs.

It’s a Big Room track with two different, massive drops and would fit at any big nightclub and electronic-festival in the world. Se more in the interview below.

#1 Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Vonairs. Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where you’re from and an interesting fact if you like…

We’re two Swedish guys, Petter and Elias, in our early twenties who love to play and produce House music. we live for it. At the moment we live in Stockholm, Sweden, most of the time in our studio (haha). When we’re not in the studio we spend time on the nightclubs or at the gym, gotta work on them biceps for all the fistpumping done on stage.

#2 – Is there a story behind your name Vonairs?

Not really, when we decided to start produce housemusic together I (Elias) just thought of a catchy band-name and Vonairs crossed my mind pretty quick. Petter and the other guys in the crew liked it and here we are now. I think it’s cool. Vonairs is like ”victory on air”.

#3 – How long have you been a band?

Since March 2013.

#4 – What first got you interested in forming House music duo?

I (Petter) think it was around 2008 when I first heard “555” with Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello and was completely stoked. Yeah, around that year for me (Elias) too. We have always been interested in music overall but it’s just something special with housemusic, it’s so motivating, every song can mean so much in different ways to the crowd, so much energy.

#5 – What/who inspires your music?

The feeling when you making a melody/song from head to reality is magic. And when people around you confirmes that its a great melody/song, something that you, together, made from your mind… Probably one of the best feelings you can get.

#6 – Do you see being in a band as a career, or as a hobby?

Vonairs is definitely our career together.

#7 – What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?

House music is what we love, we want to deliver great music to the world, that is what we live for. Of couse we want to be able to provide ourselves on the music we create, but rich should just be a bonus.

#8 – Have you ever performed live? How did it feel?

ROSE Nightclub , one of the biggest and crowdiest in Stockholm, crazy gig with a great crowd. We droped our upcoming track “Fucamo” and the reaction from the people in the crowd was great. Hard to describe how great that felt.

#9 – Do you have any kind of management, publishing or distribution team behind you? If so what are their responsibilities?

Yeah, we have a crew behind us doing management and many things more. We’re a really good team, both as friends and as colleagues.

#10 – What are some accomplishments that you have achieved, and are most proud of?

I think we’re most proud of the to upcoming tracks we’re soon releasing, “PITA” and “Fucamo”.

#11 – What one tip would you give to other aspiring independent artists?

Just work hard, believe in yourself and don’t give up, it’s a bumpy ride even for Tiesto sometimes!

#12 – Where can we hear your music online?

You can catch Vonairs on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud and at our web vonairs.comfrom January 2014.

#13 – What projects are you working on at the moment?

Right now we working on a remix on “This Is The Song” by Nause, and two other melodic tracks.

#14 – Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years time?

The dream and a goal is that Vonairs is one of the biggest House music creators/DJs in the world by that time, really!

#15 – Do you have any shoutouts you want to give?

Keep you ears wide open for many big track coming up 2014!

Thanks again Vonairs for doing this interview.

Before he ever started producing music, David Nothaker – better known as Notaker – was fascinated by science and space, especially the concept of something having no end. For “Infinite”, he was inspired by the limitless quality of the mind; our minds can take us places our bodies will never be able to, and oftentimes music serves as a catalyst to facilitate that passage. Inspired by legends like Hans ZimmerDeadmau5, and Eric PrydzNotaker specializes in creating an atmosphere around his productions to immerse the listener in the story of his sound, rather than just the track itself. He has certainly achieved that with “Infinite”, so stay tuned for more sonic experiences coming from this promising up and comer soon!

Video Premiere: Boys Noize feat. POLIÇA – Starchild

Published

on

Today, Boys Noize reveals the video for his third track of the upcoming Mayday album, “Starchild” featuring Poliça. The video is shot by LIL INTERNET in Miami and stars Poliça’s Channy Leaneagh.

Director LIL INTERNET explains the background of the video director LIL INTERNET: “The original inspiration was a harrowing film released last year by artists Alli Coates and Signe Pierce called “American Reflexxx.” The film, which depicts a masked woman walking through Myrtle Beach with violent results, ended up showing that Frankenstein narratives of persecution and misunderstanding of the “other” can unfold very easily in real life and in real time, even today. With Alli and Signe’s inspiration- and blessing to do the video- I set up a similar scenario with Poliça in a narrative of an alien falling from space and landing in South Beach. We put her in a nude bodysuit and a clear raincoat and walked around and basically just filmed what happened. Poliça is just a naturally magnetic performer- she elicited immensely beautiful moments- and while we didn’t have a result nearly as violent as Alli and Signe’s film, we did end up capturing deep emotion and complicated responses in scenes that lie somewhere between fantasy and reality. There’s many layers you can extract from the responses we captured, and I could talk forever about them, but most importantly I have to thank Poliça for her gorgeously ethereal- and incredibly brave- performance (there were more than a few extremely uncomfortable moments for her), to Alli Coats and Signe Pierce for the inspiration and giving me the OK to do this video, and of course for Boys Noize for giving me free reign to do several videos for him over the course of this album release, all of which were adventures in themselves. I do recommend watching American Reflexxx as a counterpart to the “Starchild” video, and thinking about what both videos say about humanity and society – and if there is anything we need now more than ever, it’s empathy for the “other,” whoever the “other” is to you.”
