Petter Andersson (DJ PSON) and Elias Dahlgren (Dahlgren) together under the name Vonairs started DJing and producing House music when they met at the music school SAE Institute in Stockholm in late 2012. Based in a studio in Östermalm, Stockholm, they are now working on a lot of brand-new unique House music to be made in Sweden.
Vonairs is a dynamic and newly composed House music duo that mainly produces Progressive and Big Room House music. The new single “Fucamo” is unique House music to be produced by Swedish DJs.
It’s a Big Room track with two different, massive drops and would fit at any big nightclub and electronic festival in the world. See more in the interview below.
1. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Vonairs. Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where you’re from and an interesting fact if you like…
We’re two Swedish guys, Petter and Elias, in our early twenties who love to play and produce House music. We live for it. At the moment, we live in Stockholm, Sweden—most of the time in our studio (haha). When we’re not in the studio, we spend time at nightclubs or at the gym. Gotta work on those biceps for all the fist-pumping done on stage.
2. Is there a story behind your name Vonairs?
Not really. When we decided to start producing house music together, I (Elias) just thought of a catchy band name and “Vonairs” crossed my mind pretty quickly. Petter and the rest of the crew liked it, and here we are. I think it’s cool—Vonairs is like “victory on air.”
3. How long have you been a band?
Since March 2013.
4. What first got you interested in forming a House music duo?
I (Petter) think it was around 2008 when I first heard “555” by Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello—I was completely stoked. Yeah, around that year for me (Elias) too. We’ve always been interested in music overall, but there’s just something special about house music. It’s so motivating—every song can mean something different to the crowd. So much energy.
5. What/who inspires your music?
The feeling of turning a melody or idea into a real song is pure magic. And when people around you confirm that it’s a great song—something that came from your mind—it’s probably one of the best feelings ever.
6. Do you see being in a band as a career, or as a hobby?
Vonairs is definitely our career together.
7. What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?
House music is what we love. We want to deliver great music to the world—that’s what we live for. Of course, we want to make a living from our music, but being rich would just be a bonus.
8. Have you ever performed live? How did it feel?
Yes! At ROSE Nightclub, one of the biggest and most crowded venues in Stockholm. It was a crazy gig with an amazing crowd. We dropped our upcoming track “Fucamo” and the crowd’s reaction was incredible. It’s hard to describe how great that felt.
9. Do you have any kind of management, publishing, or distribution team behind you? If so, what are their responsibilities?
Yes, we have a crew that helps with management and many other things. We’re a really good team—both as friends and colleagues.
10. What are some accomplishments that you have achieved and are most proud of?
We’re most proud of our two upcoming tracks, “PITA” and “Fucamo.”
11. What one tip would you give to other aspiring independent artists?
Just work hard, believe in yourself, and don’t give up. It’s a bumpy ride—even for Tiësto sometimes!
12. Where can we hear your music online?
You can catch Vonairs on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and on our website starting January 2014.
13. What projects are you working on at the moment?
Right now, we’re working on a remix of “This Is The Song” by Nause and two other melodic tracks.
14. Where do you see yourself in 5–10 years?
The dream and the goal is to have Vonairs be one of the biggest House music creators/DJs in the world by then. Really!
15. Do you have any shoutouts you want to give?
Keep your ears wide open for many big tracks coming in 2014!
Thanks again, Vonairs, for doing this interview.
