Meet kenyon, a young musician from Seattle with a clear sense of originality. Of course, ‘the mixtape’ LP is an example of the dope music he makes because it has all the ingredients to become something BIG. Indeed, he truly embodies his motto: “I Make Art Not Music”. From my view, the 13-track material includes mostly Hip-Hop/Rap tunes. Nevertheless, he dares to reveal his childhood passion for Rock and guitar chords on “When The Sun Falls Down (intermission)”, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, and “Thinking Of You”.
Beyond that, I have no doubt a fan favorite is the fifth cut entitled “Coloring”, which has the full potential to become a radio-friendly hit. In this regard, its retro musical aesthetic is worthy of admiration due to his sampling technique + his solid lyrical flow. Likewise, I enjoyed the seducing atmosphere and beats of “A Song For My Girlfriend”. To conclude, the 17-year-old talent offers many hidden gems on this album. So, why don’t you give it a try above?
