Alexis Taylor, Hot Chip lead vocalist, releases 2026’s most unexpected collaboration with Lola Kirke. “Out Of Phase” offers a first glimpse into his new album ‘Paris In The Spring,’ so mark your calendars for March 13th!
When their voices intertwine, you can tell something magical happens. Certainly, it’s one of his best joint efforts since Cerrone years ago. See the music video and let the synths take over!
It is worth mentioning that the new album will be released via Night Time Stories and is his seventh solo record. Moreover, it’s rumored there are more collaborations, with names like The Avalanches, Étienne de Crécy, and Pierre Rousseau of Paradis surfacing.

From Japanese Streets to Mannequin Scenes
Last year, I was totally hooked on the Hot Chip video filmed in Japan, “Devotion.” With “Out Of Phase,” his creativity brings a different setting, this time with a bunch of mannequins.
Alexis Taylor, Hot Chip lead vocalist, wanders through an unknown city while the camera focuses on him singing his new track on an escalator. That being said, the originality is palpable, even for a simple and low-budget video.
This Isn’t Your Average Love Song
The catchy jam takes you down a twisted Lost Highway (1997 movie) you never saw coming! And I think it symbolizes a journey where you feel disconnected or “out of phase” with reality.
Drawing from the haunting, mysterious world of David Lynch, it transforms a solitary cowboy’s heartbreak into something utterly electrifying.
Plus, when Lola Kirke’s vocals enter the picture, the chemistry is insane!
On the other hand, the lyrics describe a relationship or a state of mind that isn’t quite aligned with the present moment. Without a doubt, it’s a deep composition that keeps your mind spinning while you’re lost in the beat.
