Apollo Makes His Earthly Debut with Stunning Album 'Skydive'
Very rarely does an album transcend the corporeal experience and rise into the metaphysical, but that’s exactly the feeling that Vancouver’s Apollo manages to capture on his premiere album, ‘Skydive’. The album tells the story of Apollo as the sonic savior to our world, descending to Earth from another galaxy to spread positivity, peace and healing through music; his sound is distinctively and appropriately ethereal and utterly unique, captivating the listener and not releasing its hold until Apollo has conquered the world with light. From the melodic opening of the album’s self-titled track, to the upbeat and empowering “Our Voices,” to the funky and cathartic “Dominion,” Apollo takes the listener on a true musical journey. A born artist himself, Apollo has always been influenced by synesthesia – the connection between sound and colors – and “Skydive” evokes soft, watercolor tones in the shades of the sky and sunset. “Skydive” is a complex and emotive masterpiece from the Canadian rising talent, one that indicates this certainly will not be the last you hear about him.

Joel Jasper is the instrumentalist, producer, and creative genius behind the Apollo project. Based in Vancouver, Jasper is no newcomer to the music scene – his love of all things musical began when he first picked up a guitar at the age of 13, then blossomed into a full-fledged career when he discovered electronic music during his time at university. He then began organizing music events in the Vancouver area and has opened for Hot Chip, Darius, Pomo, and more, as well as played the city’s largest NYE party in both 2015 and 2016. He recently brought the essence of Apollo to life by throwing a party at the Vancouver Planetarium and transformed the venue in an astronomy theme; planetarium projections glowed on the domed theater screen and attendees danced in full costume while Jasper and two other DJs rocketed the party into the night. In his spare time, Jasper learned graphic design in order to make his own art to compliment his music, giving his fans a full-circle sights-and-sounds experience. From production to event curation to graphic design, Jasper’s talent touches all aspects of what it means to be an artist in the modern electronic music scene. The name and concept for the project stemmed from Jasper’s interest in Greek mythology and natural wellness and healing, and thus Apollo was born, conjuring images of celestial beauty and bliss. Apollo invites anyone who enjoys living outside of the box to join him on this journey and celebration of life through music.

Lo-Fi music produced by Mind=Dead
Mind=Dead
is an emerging producer from Salt Lake City who is taking all the right steps to bring you the best Lo-Fi music. Not to mention, his recent track, “Flutter” will relax your mind quickly. Although it seems unreal, its anti-stress effects are due to the combination of downtempo and orchestral elements. Needless to say, listening to its dreamy synths is the most appropriate thing to do after a busy day at work.

Likewise, the delicate piano chords can also restore harmony within yourself. I love the fact that Lo-Fi music has a steadily growing fanbase. Film Composer Mario Anthony And His Enigmatic Instrumental Music

Published

on

enigmatic instrumental music by Mario Anthony
Mario Anthony
is a fresh film composer from Chicago. This year, he brings under the spotlight his passion for enigmatic instrumental music. Not so long ago, he premiered the clip for his work of art titled “Atlantis.” Right from the start, his cinematic sounds evoke a sense of spatial imagery. What’s more, the airy synths can hypnotize you as if you were entering an unknown dimension. Indeed, the visuals below serve as a tour guide to an alternate reality where lone wanderers in special suits discover an extinct civilization. In particular, this intriguing piece is inspired by the fictional lost city cited in Plato’s works.

In 2003, movie scores of Spiderman and Hulk marked his life positively since childhood. At the early stage of his career, Mario Anthony learned to play the piano at a rapid pace. It was only later that he got fully immersed in film soundtracks after experiencing a concert by Hans Zimmer. The acclaimed Geman film composer is probably his musical hero to date. He is known for mixing orchestral instruments with Electronica.

One thing Mario Anthony and Zimmer share in common is that their imagination bustles with a frenzy of creativity. Artists in this field are on the mission to simulate a wide range of experiences through instrumental music. In the case of “Atlantis,” its charm arises from enigmatic sonic textures that approach a futuristic vision with high precision. Only time will tell if he can reshape the film industry by offering more original proposals.
