Big Gigantic Release New Installment Of Winter Chill Mix Series

Published

on

Big Gigantic
It wouldn’t be the holiday season without Big Gigantic’s cozy Winter Chill Mix, which returned in its ninth volume this month, loaded with fantastic music befitting of the most mellow (ideally) time of the year. The first Winter Chill Mix was released in 2014, and not only has it become a fan favorite, but it’s developed a cult following of its own.

This year’s edition weaves in old favorites like Swedish House Mafia, Odesza, Griz, Flume and San Holo alongside new favorites like Fred Again and Nimino resulting in a wildly enjoyable —- long ride through the chilly – and chill – season.

Clearly this festive mix means just as much to Big Gigantic as it does to the fans:

“Very excited to present our 9th installment of the Winter Chill Mix! This mix has some of our favorite songs as of late, from some of our favorite artists that are on the more chill side of things. This mix is perfect for cold winter nights and holiday season vibes. Hope you guys enjoy this one as much as we do!”

Big Gigantic, known for genre-bending production, live instrumentation, and a dedicated relationship to fans, first amplified their hopeful message for the future on Brighter Future in 2016. It reeled in hundreds of millions of streams independently and touted bangers a la “All of Me” [feat. Logic & ROZES], “The Little Things” [feat. Angela McCluskey], “Highly Possible” [feat. Waka Flocka Flame], “Wide Open” [feat. Cherub], and more. Their music would be utilized by everyone from Apple, Wimbledon, NASCAR, NBA, HBO, and Fox to the trailers for Valerian and Dirty Grandpa. They’ve ignited the bills of Coachella, Lollapalooza, ULTRA Music Festival, Hangout Music Festival, Electric Forest, and Bonnaroo. Plus, they headline and consistently sell out their own Rowdytown at Red Rocks Amphitheatre—now in its 11th year for 2022. Putting their words into action, they run the 501(c)3 A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation, which supports non-profits for at-risk youth, music education, and more. Thus far, they have raised $1 million-plus for charity. In the midst of the Global Pandemic, they continued to create, pushing forward towards what would become Brighter Future 2, released in June 2022, stacked with anthems like “Keep on Rising” [feat. Aloe Blacc], “Open Your Mind” [with GRiZ], “Just the Same” [feat. Vic Mensa & Mick Jenkins], and “Free” [feat. Elohim].

In February of 2023 they’re hitting the road for a 20 city tour – tickets can be purchased here.

Stuck In A Creative Block? Let “Colors” By Polish Producers Light The Way!

Polish Producers
Stuck in a creative block? When my work days start to drag on, I find myself seeking instrumental electronic music to spark some inspiration. Lately, I’ve had “Colors” on repeat, the chilled-out new single from Polish producers Sergiusz and Robert Winogrodzki.

Made right at home using virtual instruments, “Colors” brings a relaxing vibe with its prominent mellow melodies. At the same time, the piano-focused track has a modern vibe that’s easy on the ears.

In fact, it’s the type of instrumental electronic music you put on when you need to unwind from a long day. The blend of gentle rhythms, upbeat drums, and synth tones will induce a more relaxed mental state that is conducive to creative thinking.

The consistent beats can act as a steady background tempo, helping you maintain focus too.

What I love most is how colorful the song feels. As the title suggests, different colors seem to shine through with each listen.

It’s always great to see musical families collaborating as well. The Polish producers, who are actually brothers, pack a kaleidoscope of rich textures into just a few minutes of music, which is impressive for an amateur production!

In spite of the contrast, the drumming complements chilled-out soundscapes to perfection. What’s more, you can tell Sergiusz and Robert have an obvious passion for crafting sounds, even if it’s just a hobby.

Certainly, this composition might stir up your own imagination needed for creative endeavors. Likewise, its slowly progressive nature fosters fresh ideas.

The Winogrodzki Bros are definitely artists to watch in the year ahead.

FEYNMAN Rules Again With New Album ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’

Published

FEYNMAN
FEYNMAN
’s first album in seven years charts a new path for the Parisian producer, showcasing a thrilling depth to his sound in terms of melodic and structural composition. ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’ blooms with emotive detail, as these 18 songs come together to form one giant wave that hits the listener with maximum impact from the very first second. It’s a record that is the product of pure artistic growth, reflecting Yoann FEYNMAN’s sense of self-patience when it comes to his own development—a testament to listening to yourself and your own instincts that results in an immersive and gorgeous sonic statement.

‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’ is the first full-length statement from FEYNMAN since 2016’s breakout ‘Air,’ which reached levels of success that the 35-year-old musician hadn’t previously anticipated, including regular BBC Radio airplay and healthy touring interest. Eventually, the attention became exhausting: “It was everything I’d been fighting against my entire life,” he explains while discussing the impact that the sudden increase in visibility had on him. “I had to step back a bit.”

After canceling tour dates in the interest of personal recalibration, FEYNMAN drew his attention to the studio while also focusing on the maintenance of his co-founded FAKE MUSIC label; ironically, stepping away from the limelight resulted in more creative drive than ever before, as he wrote and recorded the lion’s share of ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’ way, way back in late 2016 following the release of ‘Air.’ “I’m more of a studio guy than I am an entertainer,” FEYNMAN says while talking about what led him to go harder than ever in his recording space.

While refining and fine-tuning ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth,’ FEYNMAN also created the ‘Illusions II’ EP, which saw release in 2017 and represented an extension of his ever-evolving creative process. “I started to write music the way one would paint,” he recalls on his changes in industriousness. “I wasn’t doing a hundred takes—I was working more in-the-moment while streamlining my own sound. I became comfortable about my flow. I used to be more concerned about keeping everything super polished, which wouldn’t always get me the results I was looking for. When you’re looking to make everything as perfect as possible, you tend to miss some of the finer details.”

And ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’ is absolutely a full realization of FEYMAN’s expressed creative ethos, expanding upon the lithe and lovely Nu-Disco sounds found on ‘Air’ to encompass the lush, nearly tactile sound design that fellow studio wizards like Max Cooper are known for. ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth’ was recorded entirely with live instrumentation—zero presets to be found here, every synth note triggered by human touch—and it thusly exudes a flesh-and-blood warmth far beyond what you might expect from such analog trappings. “something about u” ripples and echoes not unlike the celestial Pop of M83, while “falls” is pure Techno bliss that winds along a glowing melodic path, with synth hits that carry all the meditative properties of raindrops gently landing against a windowsill.

Individual highlights abound—the pulsing body music of “SPRING WATERS,” “do you remember”’s fluffy Disco shake—but make no mistake: this is a record meant to be heard as a singular piece, expansive and perfectly cohesive in a manner that represents his most intimate and personal music to date.“When I’m putting something out, I don’t want to be lying to myself,” he says about the aims and accomplishments that comprise ‘falls: a gigantic rebirth.’ “I want to be as honest about who I am as possible. I’m not in my comfort zone anymore, and as a result, this is me being as candid as possible about who I am as an artist.”

The Chemical Brothers Goodbye

The Chemical Brothers just dropped the music video for “Goodbye, from their newest album, ‘For That Beautiful Feeling. The mind-blowing visuals tell a deep story using cool camera tricks, colors, and effects.

Furthermore, it’s not just about actors and props; it dives into the emotional rollercoaster of losing a hardcore love. Of course, all this visual art wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t accompanied by the electronic and psychedelic rhythm that brought fame to this popular British duo.

By the same token, the drums resonate with strength and energy, and the vocals have a touch of Soul. As a result, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons deliver such a memorable melodic escapade.

The Chemical Brothers Goodbye

The legendary bros have been rolling out visuals for their 10th studio album since last September. Actually, they kicked it off with a neon marching band in “No Reason” and followed up with a retro dance vibe in “Live Again.”

Without a doubt, it’s like The Chemical Brothers are keeping the hype alive by releasing these goodies in reverse order since the full album hit last fall. Each new video and remix adds layers to the stories they’re weaving for us listeners. Cool stuff!
