Burt Bacharach Dionne Warwick

Guess what? There’s a Burt BacharachDionne Warwick tribute album floating around online. Sounds pretty exciting, right? But hold onto your hats because Anya Randall Nebel aka The Anya Audette, is here to share all the fascinating details about this incredible project in our exclusive interview.

1 – Is ‘Burt Bacharach Re (Imagined)’ your grand entrance into the album world?

It sure is.

2 – Who did you work with to produce all these 14 tracks?

I collaborated with Blue Room Productions from Bethesda, MD. The team included Conrad Osipowicz and Jarreau Williams, both Grammy Award-winning producers and artists from Washington, DC.

3 – Was your album recording experience a burst of fast energy or a slow, steady grind?

All of the above. The fast energy came towards the end when I had both producers in my ear, giving direction and advice for a smooth transition. The steady grind was when I knocked out four tracks in one day.

The slow part was at the beginning, it had been a while since I’d been in the studio because of COVID.

4 – What’s the quirkiest thing you’ve done to get into the mood for recording it?

I danced to Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ loudly on my stereo. The empowerment for women is infectious. I also play “Freedom” by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar, it’s a banger for me.

5 – Was there a track that almost made the album but didn’t?

Yes, “Promises, Promises.” I wasn’t pleased with it, so I’ll record it again.

6 – What type of movie would this material perfectly soundtrack? A romantic comedy, spy thriller, or maybe a sci-fi musical?

I’d say a rom-com with Scarlett Johansson and her husband, Colin Jost.

7 – Which song from the album would you recommend for someone trying to impress their crush?

“I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself.”

8 – If Burt Bacharach were to hear your album from the great beyond, what do you think his first words would be?

If Burt Bacharach were alive today and listening to my album, he might comment on the melodies, arrangements, and emotional depth of the music. Known for his sophisticated compositions and ability to blend various musical styles, he would likely appreciate any innovative elements I’ve incorporated.

He might also offer insights on the lyrical content, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in songwriting. Overall, he would probably encourage me to keep pushing creative boundaries while staying true to my artistic vision.

9 – Now imagine having a karaoke night with Dionne Warwick. Which one of her hits would you try to duet with her? Why?

That sounds like an incredible karaoke night! If I were to sing a duet with Dionne Warwick, a great choice would be “That’s What Friends Are For.” It’s a classic that showcases both our voices beautifully and has a heartfelt message about friendship and support.

Plus, it’s a song that many people love and can sing along to, making it perfect for the night.

At my album release party, people can generally expect a celebratory atmosphere where I showcase my new music. Guests will likely anticipate a live performance featuring tracks from my album, which can create an exciting experience.

Additionally, attendees might look forward to mingling with me and other fans, enjoying refreshments, and possibly participating in activities like photo opportunities or merchandise sales. Many people will also be eager to hear insights about the album’s creation, my artistic process, and any stories behind the songs. Overall, it’s a chance for me to connect with my audience and celebrate a significant milestone in my music career!
