The Chinese Year of the Fire Horse kicks off in full force this February 17th. As a Feng Shui and astrology practitioner, I’m highlighting the signs and artists who should be concerned and start taking action.
Make no mistake, it’s going to be an intense year, and preparing for the energy of this upcoming lunar cycle is essential!
What Does the Chinese Year of the Horse Mean?
First off, there are 12 signs in Chinese astrology, and each one rules an entire year, unlike Western astrology, where signs are based on months.
Well, 2026 belongs to the Fire Horse, meaning its element is doubled up. This represents burnout, impulsiveness, conflict, and high tension.
Because of that, the ‘antidote’ for 2026 is the Water element. Since Water is the missing energy this year, prioritizing reflection, hydration, deep breathing, and patience will be key to staying balanced.
On the bright side, this year also points to a massive explosion of creativity, fast-paced progress, and the rise of brave, authentic voices. Best of all, whatever is no longer serving its purpose finally burns away. In other words, these are times of big change!
Below, I’ll discuss who might be most affected based on the principle of Fan Tai Sui (犯太岁). In short, this ancient concept refers to the signs that clash with the energy of the year.

Rat (The Direct Clash)
People born in the Year of the Rat (1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) are hit the hardest during the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse. Since the Horse is the Rat’s direct opposite, they’re essentially rivals or enemies. This conflict is known as Chong Tai Sui (冲太岁).
According to traditional belief, Rats will feel like they’re constantly fighting against the current. This energetic clash can lead to sudden changes, difficult obstacles, legal disputes, and increased instability in their finances.
Besides, it brings a higher risk of accidents and health setbacks, making it crucial to watch physical limits and avoid impulsive moves in 2026.
Artists: Bono, Pete Tong, Billie Joe Armstrong, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Martin Garrix, and Lorde.
The Horse (The Self-Punishment)
When the year matches your sign, it’s basically a karmic year, meaning everything depends on how you’ve played your cards in the past. Specifically, Horses (1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) will deal with what’s known as Zi Xing (自刑) or Self-Punishment.
The energy is so high that they could easily become their own worst enemy through impatience or ego. This vibe brings a lot of burnout, emotional mood swings, and friction in both work and love life.
Nevertheless, horses will finally get the visibility they’ve been chasing, but don’t expect it to be a smooth ride.
Artists: Janet Jackson, Shirley Manson, Alison Goldfrapp, Diplo, Usher, Nelly Furtado, The Weeknd, David Archuleta, and Rita Ora.

The Ox (The Harm Clash)
The Hai Tai Sui (害太岁) or Harm Clash hits the Ox (1961, 1973, 1985, 1997) in 2026. This year, they might deal with some serious betrayal or deception. Metaphorically speaking, it’s like having a friend or business partner stab them in the back.
Basically, the relationship between the Ox and the Horse is defined by a lack of trust and a lot of envy. Because of this, 2026 is definitely not the year for them to sign major contracts or lend money, as this energy makes it very easy for them to get screwed over.
Also, they should stay away from gossip or public call-outs because their reputation is on the line, and getting caught up in drama could seriously backfire on their careers.
Artists: Enya, Boy George, Pharrell Williams, Akon, Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey, J Balvin, Alan Walker, and Camila Cabello.
The Rabbit (The Destruction Clash)
Rabbits (1963, 1975, 1987, 1999), don’t let the word destruction freak you out. It definitely sounds terrifying, but the concept isn’t literal. Po Tai Sui (破太岁) actually refers to ‘disruptions’ or ‘breakages,’ meaning they might experience a breakdown in plans, relationships, or even daily habits.
This happens because Horses are high-energy and fast-paced, while Rabbits prefer a calmer rhythm and act with caution. This creates friction because, even though both are social signs, their mindsets are quite different.
In 2026, they must avoid falling into distractions. The key is self-discipline and using this time to fix what feels necessary in life or at home.
Artists: will.i.am, Mark Ronson, Sia, Kesha, Afrojack, Tove Lo, Lil Nas X, and Sabrina Carpenter.

2026 Chinese Zodiac: The Lucky Winners
Just a heads-up: don’t take all of this too literally. Everyone has four pillars and multiple animal influences, so predictions vary by individual profile.
Plus, it’s not all bad news because every year, there are also animals that are ‘blessed’ in a way. In 2026, those will be the people born in the years of the Tiger, the Dog, and the Goat.
In particular, the Tiger and the Dog form the Fire Trinity (火三合) with the Horse, meaning they are natural allies and will be highly favored. If you have these animals anywhere in your chart, any negative effects from the other clashes will be minimal.
