For almost two decades Daddy Yankee has been doing Reggaeton on the go. However, earlier this month, the Puerto Rican artist officially announced his retirement from music.
Definitely, he’s putting an end to an era of multiple Latin hits, but, in spite of that, the genre is still mainstream globally. Nevertheless, the King of Reggaeton says goodbye to his fans with an astounding 19-track album titled, ‘LEGENDADDY.’
There are incredible collaborations in this material, but the best one is “Bombón,” featuring El Alfa and Lil Jon. Furthermore, they bring together all the ingredients of a banger, which fulfills its duty on the dance floor.
On the other hand, the music video for “Bombón” is worth watching from start to finish. In particular, the crazy rhymes and pounding beats will make you lose all control over your body.
Not to mention, it’s incredibly amazing how he preserves the frenzied energy that made him famous in the 2000s.
At the age of 45, Daddy Yankee leaves a legacy for the next generation of urban singers who dare to dream big in this industry. If “Gasolina” topped the international charts despite its Spanish lyrics, any other song could do it too.
