Fast, bright, and made to work just as well on the radio as it does at peak time in a club or on a festival main stage, “F_ck It (I don’t want you back)” is the new single from Ely Oaks and sirinens, out now on JINX Music.
The record takes one of the most recognizable breakup songs of the 2000s – a blunt message to a cheating ex – and rebuilds it around Ely’s signature sound: a high-tempo electronic beat, a clean, straight-to-the-point structure, and an energy built for Big Rooms, turning a bitter kiss-off into something a crowd can shout back at the DJ booth.
It follows Ely’s single “Self Aware,” released on September 11, and his remix of Gryffin, BUNT. and Inéz’s “World Away,” which arrived on September 18, in a year that has already brought his official remix of Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” and “Gravity,” his collaboration with Steve Aoki and SACHA, to name only a few.
The single also sets the tone for his next long stretch on the road: an extensive North American tour starting in November and running into 2027, with stops in Dallas, Portland, Seattle, Boston, Houston, New York, Miami, Austin, Detroit, San Francisco, Denver, Orlando, Toronto, Montreal, San Diego, Los Angeles and more.
The song he chose to rework carries plenty of history of its own. Released by Eamon in 2004, the original spent four weeks at No. 1 in the UK, led Billboard’s European Hot 100 and became the first chart-topper in UK history with an explicit word in its title. Twenty-two years later, it has landed in the hands of one of the busiest touring names in dance music – and when Ely’s run of shows moves to North America this winter, it’s set to become one of the loudest moments of the night from Seattle to Miami.
