Grief for the person you used to be runs through “VHS,” the new single from Micah Martin, out now – and the fourth track revealed from his debut album ‘All I Need,’ arriving November 20.
Where “Burn Them All” with OddKidOut hit with heavy guitar riffs and jump-up DnB, “VHS” sits on the electronic and alternative end of Micah’s Rocktronic spectrum, pairing electronic drums and synth production with his Rock-oriented vocal identity. The result lands as nostalgic alternative-electronic rather than straight EDM or straight Pop-Punk – a Pop-Rocktronic cut built around the memory of a slower, simpler world, and the wish to pull those years off a shelf like an old tape.
The track was produced by WALSCHLAGER, an emerging producer carving out his lane in the modern Bass and club scene with a gritty, high-impact sound design style: aggressive low-end, sharp percussion work, and dark, dancefloor-driven energy that brings a raw, high-energy aesthetic built for both club and live settings.
Micah also composed and produced on the record himself, shaping it alongside WALSCHLAGER and carrying it over the finish line. It follows “Tomorrow’s Over” with HIGHSOCIETY, “Burn Them All” with OddKidOut, and “Thrown Away,” continuing to map out the range of a 17-track record sitting at the intersection of electronic-dance and Rock-Metal music – and the bridge Micah has spent the last decade building between the biggest names in electronic Bass music and the Punk-Rock and Metal worlds he came up in.
