Turbo-D
introduces his latest release via Play Records. The talented DJ and music producer displays his impressive sound and style in “Gonn’ Get It.’”

Ready to reach new heights with this release and his upcoming release schedule, we invited Turbo-D to talk more about the behind-the-scenes process of “Gonn’ Get It.”

1 — Hey Turbo-D! How are you doing?

I am doing very well. 2023 starts and I plan more unique music for people who like powerful, groovy House music.

2 — “Gonn’ Get It” is out now, can you tell us what inspired you to produce this track?

“Gonn’ Get It” is a motivational track. I’m someone who never stops, always on the go, sometimes marching, I like to do something new, learn new things, and be rewarded for my passions from time to time. This track is focused on the reward for the struggles in life that everyone has to master.

3 — Are there any new genres or sonic explorations you’re experimenting with for this song?

In this track, I crafted a continuous progression in the bass line. No bar is the same as the one before. That was the main part of producing, because it was 100% handmade. Also, there is a main progression in the track which fits the ‘reaching of the goal on the last meters of the race’.

4 — What’s your favorite element of the track?

My favorite element is the “Uh” vocal in the off-beat which puts the groove one level higher or better.

5 — How was the production process of this release? How long did it take you to finish it?

With all my tracks, the first 80% is very fast to achieve. I played around without a real plan of what I wanted to do. That is how I always start in the creative process. I play around with instruments and then the idea reveals itself to me. From that point, it takes 1-2 hours to build the main arrangement of the track. But the last 20 percent took me around 2 weeks, or 15 hours, of working on the details and finalizing it.

6 — Did you have to overcome any struggles while working on this track?

This handmade bass line progression was sometimes very difficult because I could not listen to it 20 times in a row to check if it is correct. I had to take breaks to reset my brain so I could check my work and continue with the production process.

7 — How does this song compare to your previous releases?

This one is more mainstream-orientated. I wanted to make music that more people like and DJs can play in different sets. My previous tracks were darker and had more underground elements than this one.

8 — Can you describe “Gonn’ Get It” to someone who hasn’t heard it yet?

“Gonn’ Get It” is a Tech House track with groovy vocals which fits the vibe of many House or Tech House sets. Something to dance to and maintain (or get into) a positive mood. It’s reminiscent of famous House tracks of the past but is not a cover version of something famous.

9 — Where would you say it’s best to listen to this track?

There are different locations which are very good for this track: gym, car or dance floor.

10 — What’s next for Turbo-D?

I have 2 more tracks being released on Play Records this year.
