Javier Espanol

After a short break, Mad Hatter Recordings is back in business with a strong EP from London-based Javier Espanol.

Having cut his teeth as a DJ on the free party circuit in the southeast, Javier became well known for hosting numerous events and parties. He later established himself in London, performing at some of the city’s most iconic clubs of the era, such as Turnmills and The Cross. After earning a Master’s degree in Music Production, Javier began a work placement at Azuli Records.

His talent quickly stood out, leading to gigs at Azuli’s parties, where he warmed up for acts like X-Press 2 in the main room of Pacha. Now focusing most of his creative energy on music production, Javier has a wealth of new material set to be released in 2013, so keep your ears open.

The first track, “Transceptor Technology,” is a solid tech piece with a throbbing bassline and simple percussion that drive it forward. Spoken vocals and unexpected elements appear midway, before the track slams back with a fantastic tech stab, bringing us right back to the main groove—a track that belongs on dance floors worldwide.

Next up is “Your Mind.” Haunting 808 percussion sets the backdrop, while abstract vocals and bass continue the theme established by the first track. Overall, it’s another high-quality release from the Mad Hatter team.
