On this occasion, I’m bringing you the Kylie Minogue Tension Tour review in true Electro Wow style. I’m talking about her recent concert at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá, Colombia, on August 19.
I got the chance to travel to that amazing city to see one of my all-time favorite singers.
I recall that during my teenage years, I was completely hooked on her music videos. So, if you’re a Millennial like me, you probably remember watching her top clips in the early 2000s, like “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “It’s In Your Eyes,” and a few years later, in 2010, I rediscovered her fresh music era with “Get Outta My Way.”
Right now, her 15th studio album, ‘Disco,’ is the one I love the most.
Obviously, Kylie Minogue doesn’t just make songs; I’m convinced she only releases hits. And needless to say, all her compositions sound so good they stick in your head forever.
Not to mention, everyone at this sold-out concert was singing along to her lyrics like they were anthems. Best of all, at 57, she poured her heart and soul into the performance with such impressive energy that it left everyone speechless!
iPhone 16e Quality at Concerts
The iPhone 16e’s quality is kinda disappointing, especially for their latest model. In low light or darkness, the pictures look pixelated when you zoom; however, with strong stage lighting, the quality is just okay if you’re far from the stage. (Watch on YouTube)
In other words, if you’re close to the stage, the quality is actually pretty solid. As for sound, it’s definitely acceptable, way better than the image performance. Just make sure to tweak the settings on your phone to get 4K at 60fps, which is the best this device can handle.
Bottom line: it’s not the greatest phone for concerts, but if you end up using it, try to get as close to the stage as possible for decent results.
The Setlist: From New Hits to Timeless Classics
At this incredible concert, the Australian superstar performed her latest jams, including the Dance-Pop banger “last night I dreamt I fell in love” produced by Alok. She also treated her fans to classic hits ranging from “Locomotion” to her newest songs from the ‘Tension’ album like “Padam Padam,” “Dance Alone,” and “Edge of Saturday Night.”
But that’s not all – she literally sang the best of her entire discography. The singer really knew how to please all her listeners, with a diverse audience made up mostly of the gay community, but also moms with their daughters and sons.
In my opinion, it was such a beautiful atmosphere where everyone joyfully experienced these timeless gems.
Pure Energy and Passion
What made the whole show amazing was Kylie Minogue’s incredible energy and excellent performance. It’s truly mind-blowing to see how much stamina she has and how passionate she is about her music.
One minor downside was some communication gaps between the event organizers in Colombia (Páramo) and the box office staff (Tuboleta). For example, I was told to arrive at 3 PM for my VIP tickets, even though the concert didn’t start until 9 PM.
Also, I bought the VIP package, but the merchandise was a bit more modest compared to what they were giving out in other countries. You can judge for yourself in the photo below.
Of course, this had nothing to do with Kylie Minogue herself – her job was to give us a top-tier concert, and it’s the best one I’ve seen in my life so far. On the other hand, the Movistar Arena staff were 10/10 – they always knew how to help me whenever I had questions.
Final Thoughts
The setlist, the lights, the choreography, the visuals – absolutely everything was FANTASTIC. Kylie Minogue really showed off how talented she is, and if I could see her again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
She was born to make music, and her tracks, which are mostly about love, are the most beautiful thing an artist can create.
So without further ado, if you ever get the chance to go to one of her concerts in the future, don’t hesitate – but get ready to dance and sing non-stop!
