La Cruz is a Reggaeton artist who is breaking barriers thanks to his lyrics, which are mostly inspired by his own gay experiences. Hailing from Venezuela, today he’s making waves with his catchy jam “Yo Te Conocí Bailando” (I Met You Dancing).
In his verses, he sings about a man who enchanted him, but at the same time, he acknowledges that love is a problem for him.
La Cruz: A Game-Changer in Reggaeton
And get this, La Cruz is seriously making history! ‘Cause back in the day, Reggaeton was all controversial and derogatory towards women. But fortunately, things are changing, and it’s even awesome to see feminist rappers like LaPili and Bad Gyal doing their thing in the scene.
La Cruz is currently residing in Spain and has become a total gay icon in the Reggaeton world, like, super fast. Not only can he spit some sick rhymes, but he’s also a boss on the piano and guitar.
Plus, he’s doing a master’s in Music Production, Theory, and Marketing. The dude’s on fire!
Definitely, as more LGBTQ+ artists explore urban rhythms, they can challenge norms and push this music style in new directions. Best of all, they keep the genre fresh, exciting, and relevant.
