Bobby Farrell was a dancer and performer who made his mark as the Boney M. frontman during the 1970s Disco craze. He left Aruba at just 15 to chase adventure as a sailor, bouncing around Norway and the Netherlands before settling in Germany. There, he spun records as a DJ until Frank Farian spotted him for the new Boney M. group.
Farrell lived in Amsterdam Zuidoost, in the Gaasperdam neighborhood. He passed away on the morning of December 30, 2010, in a Saint Petersburg hotel, just after a lively show with his band the night before. The cause of his death remains a mystery.
Fans remember him for his incredible stage presence and those unforgettable dance moves that defined an era.
