Multi-talented artist and LGBTQ representative Luci is proud to present the long-awaited release of her debut album, ‘bittersweet,’ out now via Create Music.
“This album is the first time I have really written about my personal life experiences in my music. Every single song is in reference to a situation I went through personally. I named it bittersweet because that’s what relationships really are in your 20s. You fall in love, lose people you love, people you love get hurt and you’re probably going to make 27392926 mistakes. It’s all lessons in the end and these are all my personal experiences with that.” — Luci
Continuing her evolution from electronic music producer to pop artist, Luci’s debut LP is a profound, insightful look into her growth as a person and development as an artist. Taken from her personal experience, bittersweet tells a very heartfelt and honest tale of love, life lessons, heartbreak, and growth, all in one cohesive body of work. The lyrics throughout the bittersweet LP speak volumes of how far Luci has grown as an artist, reflecting a willingness to render herself vulnerable in her music through honest songwriting and storytelling. Utilizing the full range of her musical influences by injecting various elements of electronic and pop music throughout the LP, she continues to shed light on the full spectrum of emotions she experienced via the bitter musings in “karma,” the freeing vibes in “selfish,” the introspective questioning evident in previously released single “y am i not okay” and many more. Each of the tracks showcases her natural vocal talent, intertwined with genuine emotion and stellar intonation that effectively conveys the emotions that drove her creative process.
While bittersweet is a significant step into the pop genre for Luci, fans who love her EDM tracks will keenly recognize the electronic influences throughout the full-length offering, indicating her ability to take what she loves about both genres and combine them into a style that is unequivocally her own. In addition to her electrifying DJ sets, Luci has expressed plans to incorporate live elements into her tour and festival performances, on top of live vocals that fans have come to expect.
With a discography only dating back to 2018, Luci’s catalog can not only be described as dance music but music the listeners can connect with as a result of her floating vocals, carefully crafted lyrics, and production prowess. Her first EP, Wicked, was released on Liquid Stranger’s WAKAAN in October 2020 – and she was the first female artist to have released with the label.
As a bedroom producer who writes her tracks and creates her beats in the home, they often come from a place of genuine vulnerability. She believes there should be more lesbian and queer pop stars in the market, and aims to uplift and inspire those attempting to break into the scene with her presence.
