Experimental Synthpop duo Magdalena Bay (Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin) continues their Imaginal Mystery Tour in North America after performing in Australia earlier in 2025. Sam Austins supported Magdalena Bay on most of the spring dates.
After the Australian leg, Magdalena Bay played a night in Mexico City in April before heading to the US to do a show at Terminal 5 in New York City on April 25. The group did shows in cities like Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, and Toronto, Canada, before heading to Europe for shows in Spain, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
On July 4, Magdalena Bay will be playing at the Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark, alongside such musical acts as Olivia Rodrigo, Nine Inch Nails, and Charli XCX. After that, it’s off to Vienna, Austria (July 7), and Berlin, Germany (July 12) for two concerts.
The Magdalena Bay Tour 2025 is in support of Tannenbaum and Lewin’s latest album called Imaginal Disk, which they have been performing in full on the tour.
Magdalena Bay Imaginal Mystery Tour North American Dates
After playing two dates in June in West Valley City, Utah (June 24) and Auburn, Washington (June 28)—with Halsey and Flowerovlove—Magdalena Bay will be back in the US for a series of shows from July to October.
On July 27, Magdalena Bay will be in Philadelphia at Union Transfer before a pair of shows in Chicago, on July 30 at The Vic Theatre, and on July 31 in Grant Park.
In September, the Imaginal Mystery Tour hits San Francisco (September 18), Phoenix (September 23), and Los Angeles (September 26-27), followed by October dates in Dallas (October 6), Indianapolis (October 7), Nashville (October 8) at the Marathon Music Works where you can still find tickets here at TicketX for as low as $72.60.
Magdalena Bay then heads to Oklahoma City (October 12), Houston (October 14), New Orleans (October 15), Saint Petersburg, Florida (October 17), Atlanta (October 20), Raleigh, North Carolina (October 21), and Norfolk, Virginia (October 22).
The North American leg of the Imaginal Mystery Tour wraps up with shows in Boston (October 24), Washington, DC (October 25), and closing night in Philadelphia (October 26) at The Fillmore Philadelphia, where you can still find seats for $294.80.
Are Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin Dating?
Now based in Los Angeles, creative duo Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin met in a high school program run by Live! Modern School of Music in Miami, where they formed the group in 2016. Mica was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to the US with her family at age one. Lewin was born in Miami, and he is also of Argentine descent, and both are Jewish.
Tenenbaum and Lewin have been together for almost a decade now and are indeed partners in life and work, and beyond any point in a relationship where “dating” would be the appropriate word, much like John Lennon (The Beatles) and Yoko Ono did before they eventually got married in 1969.
And you can see some other creative parallels with Magdalena Bay and The Beatles. In 1967, The Beatles released the studio album Magical Mystery Tour, and the Fab Four’s “The Ballad of John and Yoko” is reminiscent of “The Ballad of Matt & Mica.”
Magdalena Bay Setlist
The Magdalena Bay setlist may change depending on backup acts and other things—the June 22 show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, was cut short after seven songs by wind— but the group usually plays for well more than an hour. On June 10 at the O2 Academy in Leeds, England, Magdalena Bay performed 23 songs, including one encore.
The setlist included the first four songs (in order) from the Imaginal Disk record as well as the rest of the album (also in order) throughout the show, ending with “The Ballad of Matt & Mica” before the encore. Here’s that setlist:

Magdalena Bay is a progressive alt group made up of partners Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin and a spinoff of Tabula Rasa. They released their debut album, Mercurial World, in 2021, with Imaginal Disk dropping last August (2024) to critical acclaim.
They began the Imaginal Mystery Tour last year in conjunction with the release of the single ”Death & Romance.” Magdalena Bay has put out three EPs and three mixtapes on top of those two impressive studio albums.
