“Dusk is my debut album, the apex of the sound I’ve been crafting over the years. I spent a lot of time during quarantine reflecting on what I wanted out of creating a full-length album. I reached a realization that I wanted it to be a project that touched on all aspects of my inspirations and influences through dance music. The subjects and emotions I touched on consisted of heartbreak, yearning, and resolve; all things I considered throughout the creative process. I took a dance-music-driven approach to the production, reaching back to my roots and channeling the feelings I got when I first started listening to dance music. This album is something I’ve worked on my entire life and I hope that people can resonate with the ideas and energy I’ve put into it.” — Manila Killa
During his career, Manila Killa has built a sterling reputation for the immense quality and attention to detail behind all aspects of his creative output. However, to say this is the biggest project of his life would somehow still be an understatement for the emotions, time, and work put in for the final product. Dusk isn’t just a body of music, it’s quite literally a representation of who Manila Killa has become as an artist over the years, reflecting on his never-ending efforts towards perfection. The vulnerability and honesty on display showcase his most intimate thought processes, shedding light on how much of himself he’s had to put into bringing Dusk to life. This is his heart and soul, shared with the world.

Feel-Good Hit Alert: Steve Aoki, Regard & mazie Drop “New York”
The EDM world is about to be rocked with the latest collaboration between Steve Aoki, Regard, and mazie. The trio creates a feel-good anthem for the city of “New York,” something that will entice listeners everywhere!
Prepare to enjoy a fresh production that combines delicious beats, nostalgic vibes, and sincere lyrics. Definitely, the unparalleled production styles from these two geniuses with mazie’s velvet-like soft vocals are sure to get you singing along.
Indeed, her voice is truly mesmerizing, with a rich, warm, and well-rounded tone that is not harsh or overly aggressive.
In my opinion, I believe that this release is one of the most significant in the Dance-Pop genre for this month. And, of course, it also has the potential to be played on radio stations.
Furthermore, the original lyrics express confusion and frustration in a relationship where the partner only wants to be together at parties and is not showing commitment. Eventually, “New York” is the place to discuss the future of the relationship and clear the doubts.
Overall. the standout feature of the new music video is undoubtedly the futuristic party scene, featuring Steve Aoki as a holographic DJ. This is just a glimpse of what tomorrow’s celebrations will be like…

Hear Nicky Romero’s Side-Project Monocule’s 1st Single Of 2023
Nicky Romero is back in 2023 as his alter ego Monocule with “Only For The Night,” for which he teamed up with Protocol’s Australian veteran Marcus Santoro and startup artist duo Higher Lane. The new track fits perfectly into Monocule’s underground aesthetic, with ethereal female vocals opening into a steady build-up to a deep, groovy drop with a rolling bassline and progressive melodies. “Only For The Night” pairs nicely with tropical surroundings, strong cocktails, sexy strangers, and dark dance floors, so look out for it in Nicky Romero’s and Protocol artists’ forthcoming festival, club sets, and on the radio airwaves. “Only For The Night” follows Monocule’s “Stargazing” with Leo Stannard and is a strong first release of the new year.
After taking the world by storm with early hits such as “Legacy” with Krewella and the #1 single “I Could Be The One” with Avicii, Nicky Romero quickly proved that his talent is ever-evolving and here to stay. After launching his Protocol Recordings imprint in 2012, the renowned performer, producer, and label head continued his personal successes with a string of high-profile releases, ranging from collaborations with Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, W&W, Timmy Trumpet and Steve Aoki to remixes for the likes of Robin Schulz, Kygo, Rita Ora, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Jess Glynne and more. While showcasing his label’s roster via his weekly Protocol Radio show, Nicky Romero continues to innovate and evolve, and with his annual “Nicky Romero & Friends” ADE showcase and the launch of Monocule alter-ego, he keeps proving his ability to turn into gold everything he touches.
Marcus Santoro joined Protocol Recordings in 2019 with his remix of Nicky Romero’s “My Way,” followed by the first single release “Shine,” in collaboration with Sentinel. His career got a massive kickstart when his single “There Is Only You” topped the Beatport trance charts and received a phenomenal three plays in a row from Above & Beyond on their Group Therapy radio show – landing Marcus a guest appearance on the show a few weeks later. Afterward, his remix for Shapov & Trouze’s “The Way” on Axtone gained traction from artists and fans alike, leading to more releases on Enhanced Recordings, Armada Music, and Flashover. Since then, on Protocol, Santoro has put out many successful releases, including “Out of My Head” together with Faderx, “Faces” and “Blackout” ft. Lauren L’aimant, “A New Day EP,” or “Salvation” with 88Birds.
