The Welsh trio took inspiration from Brian Aldiss‘ sci-fi short story “Supertoys Last All Summer Long,” which tells the heartbreaking tale of a robot child who gets tossed aside when his parents decide to have a “real” baby. In other words, the lyrics explore universal feelings of abandonment and the desperate search for identity.

VOYA didn’t stop at self-producing such an awesome moody Synthpop gem – they went full DIY on the music video too, directing it themselves. Moreover, the visual perfectly captures that melancholic vibe, creating a cohesive artistic statement that proves these guys have serious creative chops beyond just the music.
