Originally released back in 1989, “London Nights” is a timeless classic coming back to life with a fresh version, thanks to the undeniable talent of the new London Boys alongside producer Bobby To. The original tune climbed all the way to No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and cracked the top 10 all across Europe.
Backed and approved by the original masterminds behind the duo, Ralf René Maué and Luis Rodríguez, the new London Boys keep bringing the nostalgia as they pay tribute to Edem Ephraim and Dennis Fuller, who tragically passed away in a car crash back in 1996.
Honoring The Past, Shaking Up The Present
Both this refreshing version and the original convey that hedonistic vibe and feeling of freedom. The lyrics also remain intact, calling to celebrate liberation, youth, and the urban atmosphere of “London Nights.”
It’s still contagious from the second it starts (that hasn’t changed), but it does feel more modern and geared toward today’s Electro-Pop.
Plus, the new vocals give it another personality that doesn’t replace the pioneers but does continue their legacy with respect, delivering a high-quality production.

The Psychological Pull Of New Retro Music
The surge of the new retro music trend taps directly into a psychological phenomenon called “vicarious nostalgia” or anemoia. This is basically craving a vibe or an era you might not have even lived through.
Modern jams that bring back analog synths act like an instant emotional escape hatch, giving your brain a warm sense of comfort and familiarity.
In a world that feels pretty overwhelming, vintage sounds offer that simple euphoria we all naturally look for. Plus, it hits a sweet spot in the brain: you get the safety of a familiar rhythm mixed with the punch of a contemporary production, which releases a nice hit of dopamine every time.
What’s Next For New London Boys
The music video for “London Nights” dropped last March. Right now, I’m sure the new London Boys are back in the studio cookin’ up more surprises for all the nostalgic fans.
