Nicky Roland is back with a groovy tune to get you moving during the last days of summer. Entitled “FunkBox,” the result is a floor-filler that is sure to be played at the best clubs across the world.
The British producer who resides in the states is open to exploring different rhythms. On this occasion, he dares to showcase retro beats merged with Funky House + Jazzy nuances.
Somehow, it shares similarities to his previous Disco gem, “Feel It,” which is also energetic and makes you want to dance right away.
Interestingly, “FunkBox” gets its name due to a vintage drum machine originally popularized by Sly Stone and his band in the ’70s.
From robotic-sounding vocoders to sick basslines, Nicky Roland guarantees non-stop funkyness. Trust me, on first listen, “FunkBox” is an instant favorite to such an extent you’ll be completely vibing with it.
If I’m not mistaken, the whole composition is a little bit faster than most of his previous releases but it’s very boogielicious, making it easy to get down with this one.
Clearly, it’s not in vain that he’s been signed to the legendary Chicago label DJ International Records. Stay tuned and keep your body moving!
