Although Miami Music Week fell victim to the global pandemic again in 2021, Nicky Romero and his Protocol Recordings are still committed to delivering Miami-themed music to fans. The label releases their annual EP of ‘Protocol Vibes – Miami 2021’ featuring five exclusive tracks to get you through the no-festival blues and feel Miami’s atmosphere from your home. Setting the tone is Nicky himself, taking it back to the beginning with a driving Big Room track “You Used To, completed with a goose-bump-inducing drop to truly embody the spirit of MMW/WMC. Next up, Protocol’s veteran duo Trilane team up with Charlie Ray and Jordan Grace for “In Heaven” that will take you right back to the mainstage with its uplifting build-up and positive message, while Sisters Cap return with “Foolin’ Me,” a disco-influenced gem filled with daytime festival energy. SOLR and Timmy Loss’s “Erase You” is a deep and groovy progressive house with emotive vocals for those late-night vibes, while Mantrastic & Rechler close the compilation out with “Groove On,” a funky minimal house track that slaps just like you were dancing at a warehouse in Wynwood. While we hope to see everyone again in 2022, press play on the “Protocol Vibes – Miami 2021” soundtrack to be transported back to one of dance music’s hallmark events.

Founded by Nicky Romero in 2012, Protocol Recordings is one of the leading imprints for innovative house music; it boasts a roster of heavy-hitters complemented with immensely talented up-and-comers, all with a diverse range of sounds that are guaranteed to light up a dance floor. The label always has a strong presence at Miami Music Week, with past showcases taking place at the chic, avant-garde Ora Nightclub in South Beach, and consistently bring both loved veterans and fresh faces in their live performance circuit. Even though health concerns are preventing them from touching down in Miami this year, the crew is still promising plenty of new music and travel dates as soon as the situation is under control. Catch Nicky and the rest of the team during their festival and club runs after the pandemic is over, and keep up to date with all Protocol news.

EDM Masterpiece “In My Zone” Will Get Stuck In Your Head!

Even though it’s been over 9 months since Tungevaag released this EDM masterpiece, “In My Zone” is still in heavy rotation on both playlists and DJ sets. Definitely, the vocals find a way to hit you right in the ear and the heart.

Believe it or not, the Norwegian producer worked on this tune for almost 6 months. Apparently, he applies the philosophy of working hard in silence and letting the results speak for themselves.

Furthermore, he describes the culmination of the whole project as a dream that came true.

Above all, what caught my attention is certainly the cinematic music video directed by Henry Lipatov. Many fans are comparing the visuals to the popular Fast & Furious film, and they’re probably correct.

On the other hand, if you’re driving a vehicle or motorcycle, this is the ideal track to feeling all the adrenaline running through your veins. Just make sure you’re wearing your seatbelt or helmet properly.

In short, there’s also something catchy about “In My Zone” that quickly gets stuck in your head. His formula is no longer a secret, and I think perseverance and passion were the main elements to obtain such an amazing song.

OnenO And Anastasia Elliot Unveil An Orchestral EDM Sound!

expands his musical spectrum alongside Anastasia Elliot with the new collaborative single, “The Shattering. There’s no doubt this orchestral EDM sound brings exciting new vibes to the table.

Even if the rhythm is hard to classify in the end, it’s a call to party hard, throw up your hands and stomp your feet. Sonically speaking, it features an artful aesthetic you can feel thanks to the shimmering violins and the piano at the intro and subsequently coming right before the bass drop.

Of course, the whole output wouldn’t be the same without Anastasia’s extraordinary mezzo-soprano range. A very unusual combination between electronic textures and operatic nuances that somehow works!

Stream “The Shattering” via Spotify below.

When circumstances are stormy and your world is falling apart, all you need is motivational music. The verses in “The Shattering” truly represent the encouragement to stop suffering and finally move forward.

Indeed, that’s exactly the purpose of such an upbeat song.

Moreover, the lyrics are based on the Japanese art from Kintsugi. Just as this practice leads you to repair broken pottery, in the same way, this symbolizes that you can find potential after tough times.

Well, this is the hidden message behind a unique composition. Hopefully, it’s the first of many future collaborations.
