“Pal Pal” by Afusic, Ali Soomro, and Talwiinder emerged as one of the defining South Asian breakout records of 2025, gaining strong traction across Spotify, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.

Continuing that success, Sickick’s official remix, driven by its emotional hook, atmospheric production, and late-night heartbreak vibe, has resonated strongly with Gen Z audiences and crossed 762K+ views on YouTube since its release, introducing the record to new audiences worldwide.

Beyond the numbers, the track became a cultural moment online, widely used in heartbreak edits, playlists, and short-form content. As momentum around the record continued to build, anticipation grew for a new interpretation of the track. The official remix by internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Sickick, released on 15th May 2026, reimagines “Pal Pal” through a darker, cinematic electronic lens.

Known for his masked identity and signature “SickHop” sound, Sickick bridges the track’s South Asian emotional core with a global club-forward reinterpretation designed for diaspora audiences and beyond.

Tracing the journey of this remix, Sickick says: “Remixing ‘Pal Pal’ felt really special. Growing up around Bollywood music, I was inspired by
the emotion, melodies, and energy that South Asian music carries, and those influences have stayed with me throughout my life and career.

For this remix, I wanted to honor the soul of the original while bringing my own perspective and sound into it. More than anything, I wanted to create something that people could enjoy together. Travelling the world over the past few years, experiencing different forms of music and being inspired by different cultures, helped me create this record. Incorporating electronic elements, afro drums and South Asian vocals is something that hasn’t been done before, and I really want to create a moment that felt like a time stamp in music history.

A record that reminds us that a great song doesn’t belong to one background, one community, or one side. It belongs to everyone who connects with it. That’s what inspired this remix. Not to focus on what divides us, but to celebrate what brings us together. If people from different walks of life can listen to the same song, sing the same words, and share the same dance floor, then music is doing exactly what it’s meant to do.”

With Sickick’s reinterpretation, “Pal Pal” further expands its life as a cross-cultural record, bridging emotional South Asian storytelling with a global electronic sound.
