The newest Hercules & Love Affair‘s music video for “Someone Else Is Calling” is an intimate love letter to the queer parties in Mexico. Director Tatsumi Milori (who also stars!) didn’t just film a club; they captured an underground movement.
Shot across Xochimilco and the capital’s interior spaces, the video follows Milori, powerhouse vocalist Elín Ey (aka Hips & Lips), and a crew of friends through moments of intense dancing, spontaneous laughter, and deep connection.
The result is an ecstatic, shadowy, communal visual that reflects the upcoming EP’s spirit, which comes out on December 14th. Fingers crossed it’s as dope as ‘The Feast Of The Broken Heart;’ that 2014 record remains the GOAT for me.
Andy Butler Is Back on the Acid
The mastermind behind Hercules & Love Affair, Andy Butler, is officially back on the dancefloor. His new collection of tracks, the ‘Someone Else Is Calling’ EP, is a complete and utter banger.
Moreover, this release is designed to unleash euphoria at clubs. The artist is merging classic, emotional House vocals with a dark, gritty Acid Techno pulse.
Andy teamed up with Quinn Whalley (Paranoid London) for that signature squelchy sound, and the incredible Elín Ey, who delivers vocals that soar from cathartic club-shaking notes to moments of vulnerable intensity.
In fact, Butler calls her voice “one of the purest, most magical” he’s worked with. This four-track EP drops right after Hercules & Love Affair’s first live shows in seven years.

Inside the Queer Scene in Mexico
For visitors looking to experience the nightlife that inspired this music video, the heart of queer parties in Mexico is concentrated in two major hubs. In Mexico City, the action centers on the Zona Rosa (Pink Zone), with other alternative venues in the Historic Center, Roma, and Condesa.
Meanwhile, Puerto Vallarta is a world-renowned beach destination. The Zona Romántica serves as the center of gay life, featuring beachfront clubs and an open-air party atmosphere.
Besides that, foreigners can expect an incredibly welcoming, lively, and often late-night scene across both cities.
Not to mention, drinks are typically very affordable. You’ll find everything from massive dance clubs and drag shows to more intimate, electronic-focused parties.
