Quickfire Interview With: Bruno Martini

Dj from Brazil

This is the second time I have the opportunity to interview Bruno Martini, considered by many as the top emerging DJ from Brazil. The only difference is that now he answers some random quickfire questions, which means you will discover new things about his life. In light of the new EP, ‘The Cure’, I call upon all fans of electronic music to enjoy it to the fullest.

1 – You’ve been DJing and producing since…

I basically grew up inside my Dad’s studio. Inside the studio they had the Dj set that I used to play with it. When I was 8 years old he gave me my first guitar. I had my rock band when I was 12-14 years old and then started to produce and compose my own music. When I turn into 16 years old I signed a deal with Disney. I spent 5 years working with Disney.

2 – You got involved in the music realm because…

My father is a musician and he has his own studio. I think when you expose yourself to music that much, it just turn into a part of yourself. I feel a strong connection between me and music.

3 – Your sound is…

Difficult to explain since I am influenced by so much different kind of music. I never produce with some kind of sound in my mind, I just begin and in a natural way, the music comes to me. I follow my heart and my energy.

4 – Your biggest inspiration is…

Timbaland! 🙂 Which I had the opportunity and privilege to work with him and we made 10 songs together that will be released soon! He’s such a legend.

5 – Fans should listen to your debut EP ‘The Cure’…

Because it is something different then I have done before. This year I have the opportunity to perform on the biggest festivals around the world and I wanted to release an EP especially for the club scene and festivals.

6 – If you want to know who Bruno Martini is, listen to the track…

“Living On The Outside”. I wrote, sang and produced this record.

7 – Your most memorable career moment so far has been…

Oh wow, there are so many but my first gig at Tomorrowland and EDC Mexico are definitely 2 shows I will never forget. Also when I did “Hear Me Now”, this song has almost 400 M streams on Spotify and became the song with more streams made by a Brazilian. Turning point in my life.

8 – Your dream is…

Keep doing music.

9 – Your next release is called.

Well, I cannot reveal this at this stage but I can tell you that it will be completely different than the EP.

10 – Your all-time favourite track is…

“Living On The Outside”.

11 – Your favourite venue/club is…

It is difficult just to pick one but it is close call between Laroc and Green Valley. Both venues are amazing big room clubs in Brazil!!

12 – If you weren’t a DJ and producer you’d probably be…

Believe it or not but I got my master in Civil Engineering last year, so I would probably building a nice sound studio for others. 😉

13 – You’ll only stop making music if…

Never, so that means when I am done here on Earth.

14 – In a few years, you want to be…

What I am now.

15 – What are you doing for the rest of the day?

For me, it is difficult to leave the studio because I am touring so much and I really like to be in the studio. But I do find time to go to the gym and have some fun with my friends. It’s good to have a balance in this.
