Sam Blacky Transports You To A Deep Jungle Rave With “Salvador”
Sam Blacky is back with her latest Tech-House masterpiece, “Salvador,” which rounds out her newest ‘Bogota’ EP with its predecessors, July’s “Munca” and namesake “Bogota” from April. Opening with shimmering melodies and deep, undulating progressive basslines, Sam begins to weave her sonic magic with layers of percussive instrumentals and a muted, tribal vocal riff that’s bound to bring on the goosebumps during a live set. Blacky is a master at using music to transport her listeners to the exotic locales that fuel her inspiration, and “Salvador” continues her love affair with Afrobeats, tribal rhythms, and Latin melodies, making for a sultry track that evokes raves in the deep jungle fringed by a sparkling blue sea and white sand beaches. “Salvador” will no doubt be making appearances during Sam’s frequent live performances worldwide, so listen up!
“Travel has been my biggest inspiration since I started my journey in the dance music scene. Immersing myself in different cultures and being around people from all around the world has given me the tools to go into the studio and make music that resonates with my soul. ‘Salvador’ and all the tracks on the ‘Bogota’ EP capture all the feels from my travels these past 12 months – and shine a light on rhythms and sounds that have stayed with me and made me who I am today. Enjoy!” — Sam Blacky

DVBBS & Chrome Hearts’ Jesse Jo Stark Release “Breathe”

On the 10-year anniversary of their epic rise to fame with 9 x platinum-certified 2013’s “Tsunami” DVBBS goes back to the underground with their brand new release “Breathe.” The duo teams up on it with Jesse Jo Stark of the Chrome Hearts fashion family and one of the brand’s lead designers, which sets the stage with a deep, driving beat in its opening notes.
Combining Jesse’s mesmerizing, haunting vocal riffs with eerie soundscapes and minimal percussion, DVBBS steers the ship straight into the sonic underground with a breathtakingly sinister drop that’s simply designed for dark club dance floors as well as big main stages of festivals across the globe. “Breathe” sees them returning to their roots with the same sound that catapulted them to the global stage with “Tsunami” a decade ago, which has since amassed several platinum and gold certifications worldwide, peaked charts in almost 20 countries, and made DVBBS a household name.
Jesse Jo Stark explores new ground with “Breathe,” which sees her departing from her usual Alt-Pop wheelhouse and looking after the creative side of Chrome Hearts. Stark also designed all of the aesthetic fashion in the track’s accompanying music video. Read on for more about the track from the artists themselves.
“Since we put out our first global hit – ‘Tsunami,’ 10 years ago, everything that happened afterward was a wild ride. From releasing original and collaborative dancefloor fillers with the likes of Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Major Lazer, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to having all the DJs supporting our music to selling out our own shows and worldwide tours where we performed in front of millions of our fans throughout the years, to being in constant rotation on radio airwaves globally, we’ve got to the point where we can do what we want while staying independent. After a stream of successful radio and crossover releases during the past years with the likes of Blackbear, Kane Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Quinn XCII, 2 Chainz, Aloe Blacc & Cody Simpson, to name a few, it’s time we go dive deep to the underground where everything started for us, our fans & our team. We are stoked about bringing Jesse Jo Stark with us. She’s one of the dopest upcoming acts with a voice & presence that will take you down full journey into her world of melody, fashion & rock n roll… and let me tell you her world is like nothing that you have experienced before. We are looking forward to what the next 10 years will bring.” — DVBBS
“‘Breathe’ makes me want to thrash around naked and release all my demons! it’s a sexy wet paradise!” — Jesse Jo Stark

Bhaskar & JADED Join Forces For Dark Tech-House Single “When I See It”

Brazilian producer Bhaskar teams up with West London-based duo JADED for their new release “When I See It,” featuring The Vic. This dark and dynamic tune brings to mind epic tracks from the early 2000s House legends with its fusion of spoken word vocals and seamless sonic production.
Opening with rich instrumental melodies, Bhaskar and JADED weave in deep and driving basslines with sparkling synths to make for a track that’s complex yet utterly danceable. Summer may be winding to a close in many parts of the world, but “When I See It” is guaranteed to keep things hot, hot, hot for clubbing and winter festival season in the tropics.
It follows Bhaskar’s recent curation of CONTROVERSIA’s Vol. 010 compilation, a remix for Yves V and Sem Thomasson’s “Sound Of A Beating Heart” and his collaboration with Mojjo and Bright Sparks on “Zombie” on Repopulate Mars. On the other hand, JADED had a stream of successful releases on Diplo’s Higher Ground label with singles such as “Mirror” and “Show My Love,” as well as more original works and remixes on Another Rhythm, Sweat It Out, and more.
“‘When I See It’ emerged some time ago through conversations between JADED and myself on the internet. I had a tour scheduled for Europe and would be in London, so I reached out to them. We decided to meet and create a song together. When discussing what we were going to produce, I recall that ‘Tina’ was the song of mine that had most caught their attention, while ‘Welcome To The People’ was the song of theirs that had grabbed mine. We then talked to find a middle ground between the two, and I think ‘When I See It’ is precisely that. It has various elements reminiscent of ‘Tina,’ but also many sounds that they used in ‘Welcome To The People.’ As for its genre, I see it as a tech house track but with a more progressive twist. It builds throughout the song, introducing a new element with every break, every drop, showcasing this progressive nature. Regarding its similarity to ‘Tina.’ I undoubtedly wanted to create a follow-up to ‘Tina,’ but I aimed to deviate slightly from its original vibe to reinvent the sound rather than just continue it. I believe ‘When I See It’ does echo ‘Tina’ but in a lighter way, more accessible, for instance, in its lyrics, which aren’t as heavy as ‘Tina,’ neither is instrumental. So I see it as a ‘Tina 2.0’, but lighter and more digestible.” — Bhaskar
“This song is all about that undeniable feeling you experience with other people that doesn’t require a description, it’s an understanding that whatever this sound is we are experiencing together is hitting all the right emotions and feelings and is just right! We all felt this very quickly when things started cooking up with Bhaskar in our West London studio! The Vic’s undeniable vocal really delivers this one straight into the cosmos.” — JADED
