After recently cruising past the 100 million stream mark for his “Past Lives” release, sapientdream (Slushii’s side alias) is proud to enlist emerging star Ian Asher as the latest remixer for his viral hit.

“Ian is one of the most exciting young producers in the scene right now. I’m thrilled to have him onboard to remix “Past Lives” and I’m confident his style and sound will enable more fans to enjoy this track that may not have enjoyed the more chill vibes of the original.” — Slushii

The wider emergence of the sapientdream project signifies an exciting new era for Slushii, buoyed by a newfound freedom and return to roots of sorts as he spent the past two years exploring commercial music and Hip-Hop. Having a separate creative outlet for the Slushii project has led to exciting collaboration opportunities with wunderkind talents like Ian Asher, who have taken the industry by storm in recent years.

Asher’s take on “Past Lives” transforms the soothing, lo-fi tune into a festival and club-ready banger, likely more a fit for a Slushii live performance than a sapientdream experience. Between the ingenuity, sapientdream showed in the original and the innate talent Asher flexes in his remix, “Past Lives” continues to drive forward as one of the biggest dance tracks of the past year.

About Slushii // sapientdream
One check of Slushii’s ever-growing record of credentials and there’s no doubt that the 26-year-old, forward-thinker from New Jersey is the future of electronic dance music. To describe Slushii’s ascent as meteoric would be an understatement —in just three years since he emerged on the scene, he’s brought his vibrant, textured sonics to five continents and countless countries, with three headlining tours already under his belt. His rap sheet doesn’t end at his relentless touring itinerary either. Touted as the next generation’s torch-carrier by the likes of Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and Skrillex. Recent years have seen Slushii achieve career-defining moments that only propelled his global fandom, including the release of his most-streamed record to date, ‘All I Need.’ The prolific producer debuted the single during his Fortnite virtual concert, which was a catalyst for the song to become a viral video game meme. Slushii has his sights set on world domination from the command center of the ERU.

About Ian Asher
From being an opening act in local California nightclubs to headlining sold-out venues around the world in under a year, Ian Asher is a very exciting new DJ / Producer. Born in Orange County, CA Ian has swiftly become a talked about creator in the dance music scene, and beyond, combining his sense for future hits with a talent as a DJ and crowd mover. Celebrated by many as a trendsetter with the use of his frequently viral sounds on social media Ian is just getting started as a trailblazer in the music scene.

At the age of 22, Ian Asher’s breakthrough didn’t happen overnight; years of honing his craft in his music studio and on social media provided him with the chance to cultivate his distinctive sound and collaborate with his peers. His debut original release “God On The Weekend” dropped in December 2022 and landed on Spotify’s much coveted MINT playlist, quite a coup for a debut artist. After stumbling upon a tune from French artist Jain with her song ‘Makeba’, Ian promptly produced a unique edit of the original tune which became the most used sound on Instagram in July of 2023. Sony France could not ignore the power of this incredible remix and it was officially released in August.

Since then his ‘Makeba’ remix has garnered almost 40 million streams on Spotify alone and was named one of ‘Mint’s Best Dance Songs of 2023’. Ian is now poised to set dancefloors and playlists alight once more with his incredible re-work of Sergio Mendes’ “Mas Que Nada” (out Jan 19 on label Easier Said) which he collaborated on with DJ Oliver Heldens. There is little that can hold this incredible creator back as he takes his show on a world tour. Ian Asher represents what it truly means to bridge the gap between social media virality, state-of-the-art production, and dominating the live music scene.
