I’ve been a Pet Shop Boys fan since I was a kid and I love all their albums. I fell in love with their music in general due to the melodic yet interesting song subjects.I particularly like their brand new single “Twenty-Something” a sobering, acerbic account of millennial optimism drowning in capitalist decadence, set to a reggaeton beat. However, I am not 100% satisfied with the video because I would have preferred that Neil and Chris appear also in the clip as they have always done in the past. The first thought after watching the video is that it’s totally different from what I have imagined of the story about the song. But then I realize that the core (sadness and helplessness) is there… Although the song has a sort of “happy” rhythm.
