Synthwave Horror

Vincenzo Salvia, the acclaimed Italian composer, and producer, known for his unique blend of Synthwave and Italo Disco and his featuring in the Stranger Things 3 OST, announces the release of his latest EP, ‘They Speak Italian 2. This new project delves deeper into the dystopian world introduced in the first EP.

The narrative explores Italy where a severe grain crisis has led to a drastic reduction in carbohydrate consumption, transforming the population into zombie-like figures desperate for bread, pasta, and pizza. The story takes a satirical look at the absurdity of a society where traditional Italian dishes become rare commodities and social norms collapse.

The EP features five captivating tracks, each one a piece of the puzzle in this darkly humorous tale.

Salvia introduces “OnlyBuns,” a digital platform that capitalizes on Italy’s obsession with food and social media. The story critiques modern consumerism, the commodification of culinary traditions, and the influence of social media on cultural values.

It highlights the paradox of a society that idolizes food but loses sight of its true nutritional and social significance.

This release is particularly significant as it continues Salvia’s exploration of blending music with storytelling. With “They Speak Italian 2”, he dives deeper into the narrative style, blending his nostalgic flair with a modern touch.

The EP’s production quality and attention to detail showcase Salvia’s growth as an artist while paying respect to the iconic sounds of the ’80s and the charm of classic horror.
