Dupliqet‘s “the ghost is relinquished” sounds like robots starting a Rock band in a cyberpunk wasteland. This Electronica cut delivers hard-hitting energy through a relentless combination of fuzzed-out guitar riffs, pounding percussion, and hypnotic synths that spin relentlessly in your head.
Everything repeats with mechanical precision, accompanied by layers of distorted textures, like a buzzsaw, creating a driving, almost obsessive rhythm that mirrors the dystopian theme about humanity’s relationship with technology.
The Story Behind the Beats
Track seven on Dupliqet’s upcoming first album, ‘(the) corrupting,’ which drops on September 27, is “the ghost is relinquished.” In the concept’s story, humans have officially given up the battle. The machines took over, and our souls (our “ghosts”) are no longer our own.
In fact, both the narrative and the beats carry a dark vibe, yet at the same time, they feel quite futuristic. To the point that if you’re a Daft Punk or Kraftwerk fan, this composition will certainly hook you.

The Sound of Robot Revolution
Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, the duo defines their sound as Industrial Pop, which is kinda chaotic but at the same time dancey. That’s why when I listened to “the ghost is relinquished,” I immediately pictured a Rock band made up of robots.
So, it’s basically the opposite of chill. It’s giving dystopian factory rave.
Besides that, this tune, along with whatever else they put on their new album, could straight up be playing during a post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie scene where the machines take control. And the combo of heavy drums and synths feels like it’s about to short-circuit, but in a good way that just hits you with that headbanging urge.
In other words, it hijacks your senses, leaving you no choice but to surrender to its unpredictable groove. Stay updated with the latest drop on their socials below.
