Singer, DJ, violinist, and music producer Esther Anaya turned years of festival experience and pure determination into a dream collaboration with Snoop Dogg on “Baseline.” She opens up about blending genres, learning from a legend, and why this dance floor anthem is just the start of her most ambitious creative chapter yet.
1. So, Esther, let’s start with the obvious question: how did you end up in a studio with Snoop Dogg making “Baseline”?
A simple DM and lots of persistence on one of my favorite legendary artists of all time was what it took. I always push hard toward my goals, and this was no different. I had the fortune of performing with Snoop Dogg at the SoFi Stadium on behalf of the Chargers, and this, along with my persistence, really helped align the collaboration.
2. Who came up with the concept and title for “Baseline”?
The title “Baseline” came naturally during production. The groove of the record revolves around this deep, driving bass line that gives the track its pulse. It felt like the perfect way to capture the heartbeat of the song and amplify the catchy hook of ‘Baseline so fine’.
3. This dancey track also features Eran Hersh, Dean Walker, and Aston. How did you handle merging these unique creative styles into a single song?
We all came together with a concept of creating a song that could translate our unique styles collectively to dancefloors far & wide, without losing the essence of Snoop Dogg’s uniqueness and style. We wanted to put together a track that resonates with each of us, including Snoop, while also bringing a fresh groove to our audience and fans.

4. You’ve been DJing and playing massive festivals for years. Did any of that stadium energy influence how you approached making “Baseline”?
Absolutely. I imagined the song being enjoyed by a wide range of demographics. In its element, I wanted this song to be danceable, groovy, and easily played across both small and large venue environments.
5. How much did your violin shape the vibe of this tune? Major player or just a sprinkle?
On this track, it’s more of a sprinkle. I layered subtle violin textures in the background to give it depth and that signature touch, but I wanted the bass and Snoop’s vocal to stay at the forefront.
6. Which part of the composition gets you most excited, and what do you think will leave fans speechless?
For me, it’s the drop after Snoop’s vocal hits. There’s this tension that builds, and then the drop just takes over. Hearing his voice flow right into that dance-floor moment is definitely a highlight in the track.
7. Working with a legend like Snoop must have taught you something new. What’s the biggest thing you learned from him during this collaboration?
His authenticity. Snoop has this effortless way of being himself in any setting, and it taught me that the strongest art comes from staying true to your identity, no matter the genre or the stage.
8. If you had to describe the sound and feeling of “Baseline” using only three words, what would they be?
Pulsing. Addictive. Timeless.
9. After 20 years in the game, from classical training to massive live performances, do you ever miss the simplicity of just playing violin, or is the intensity of collaborations what keeps you alive creatively?
I’ll always respect my roots with the violin, but what really fuels me now is the energy of massive live performances and big collaborations. There’s nothing like feeling the crowd’s reaction in real time or bouncing creative energy off other artists. That intensity pushes me further than I could ever go alone. It keeps me inspired, motivated, and constantly evolving.
10. This collaboration opens so many doors. Are we going to see more unexpected partnerships like this in your upcoming 2026 releases?
Yes, 100%. Baseline is just the beginning. I have various collaborations lined up for 2026 that will surprise, excite, and energize my audience. I can’t wait to share these with you when the time is right.
