Hey guys, this is Erick, and I dare to say that Electro Wow (not Electric Wow) was one of the first blogs to spread Electronic Dance music and Pop news worldwide. Surprisingly, it all began on May 1st, 2007.
Here, where I live, most people don’t work on Labor Day, and stores are closed. So, I seized the day off and chose to kickstart my own site on Google’s free Blogger platform.
Back then, I drew inspiration from music video forums and European TV channels like MTV Dance, VIVA, and Flaunt. Interestingly, the inaugural blog post I crafted centered around a bedroom producer named Calvin Harris and his debut single “Acceptable In The 80s.”
Time flew by, and today, he’s a legend who reigns atop Forbes’ Highest-Paid DJ list.
Electro Wow’s Mission
My goal has always been to keep readers updated with the latest music releases. In 2010, I migrated my blog from Blogger to WordPress to enhance its professionalism. I pursued studies in Graphic Design and Advertising, being recognized as the best graduate student in 2016. The knowledge I gained in college greatly contributed to expanding my vision for Electro Wow. (Read my full story here)
Presently, I continue to support independent singers, DJs, and emerging producers. Additionally, Electro Wow offers a social media strategy service that assists musicians in advancing their careers.
