“DRIFT” by RƎAD isn’t your typical Minimal Techno track; it’s a cinematic journey made for late-night strolls through neon-soaked streets. Imagine the world of Blade Runner brought to life with modern electronic beats; that’s exactly what this haunting production delivers.
Don’t just take my word for it, listen for yourself on Spotify below.
This One’s Made for Getting Lost In
The Marseille-based artist crafts an otherworldly melody with layered ambient textures. Deep bass frequencies and hypnotic rhythms conjure suspense and intrigue.
The backbone is a gorgeously textured pad created through analog synths, mixing strings and piano elements with obsessive attention to spatial depth. Therefore, you won’t be moving your feet to this; you’ll dive deep into it.
Getting lost is exactly the point. That being said, let yourself be carried away by the melancholic soundscape and experience what true sonic immersion feels like.
“DRIFT” was born from a recurring sense of detachment from places, people, even myself. I wanted to capture the strange beauty of drifting through a city at night, both physically and emotionally. It’s the soundtrack to being lost on purpose. — RƎAD
The Emerging Force You Need to Watch in Minimal Techno
What’s mind-blowing? RƎAD (a clever mirror-flip of his real name Réda) has only been making music for 18 months. Drawing inspiration from Border Community icons like James Holden and French collective Hungry Music, he’s already mastering the art of emotional storytelling without lyrics.
RƎAD might not have any classical training, but Minimal Techno and Electronica had always called to him. At first, the technical stuff intimidated him, until he opened that first synth plug-in and everything clicked.
Consequently, late-night sound sculpting quickly became his new passion.

What’s more, “DRIFT” is just the beginning of many more jams that, in one way or another, transcend the ordinary.
With his next single, “RISE,” he reveals to Electro Wow the inside scoop that this time he’s experimenting with something way more uplifting and adding ethnic-inspired drums as a fresh ingredient.
All in all, you can’t miss it, so make sure to follow him on his socials.
