The Weeknd Pays Tribute To Karaoke Culture In “Out Of Time” Video

Published

on

The Weeknd makes it clear that “Out Of Time” is one of those fun karaoke songs you can sing out loud. Japan’s best-known form of entertainment is honored with this music video directed by Cliqua (RJ Sanchez and Pasqual Gutierrez).

The first karaoke machine was invented 40 years ago. Its technology has evolved over time and it’s still popular among people who indulge their singing fantasies.

Celebrity Guest Stars

South Korean model and actress HoYeon Jung plus American actor Jim Carrey make a special appearance in the new clip.

What’s more, you never would have imagined the visuals to turn out so dark at the end. Indeed, it’ll be hard to take your eyes off the screen from the very start.

The Global Impact of Karaoke Culture

Beyond the fact that karaoke culture is enjoyed worldwide, The Weeknd clings to this premise to make art out of it. Besides, “Out Of Time” sounds like an all-time classic from his fifth studio album, ‘Dawn FM.’

It’s worth mentioning the sample you hear was taken from Tomoko Aran’s 80s song “Midnight Pretenders,”  and seems impossible to resist grooving on such an eargasmic melody.

The Weeknd‘s upcoming global stadium tour launches in Toronto, Canada, on July 8th and continues throughout North America. Get your tickets before it’s too late…
