Watch This: The Weeknd - Secrets
The Weeknd is back with a new video for his song “Secrets”. I don’t know why I’m always loving the good aesthetics of his visuals. This time the Electro Pop singer appears in something that looks like a massive hotel featuring a hall of mirrors, burgundy carpets, and a levitating cross at the end. Watch it below. “Secrets” is taken from his most recent album ‘Starboy’. Some months ago, I shared with you the video clip of “I Feel It Coming” (featuring Daft Punk), which is in my humble opinion one of the best tracks of the year!

Hi, my name is Erick Ycaza. I have a BA in Advertising & Graphic Design. This blog is to provide you with daily music news and share my personal style.

Brother Duo The Keymakers Share Anthemic "California In The Sun"
If you are in the lookout for anthemic and singalong songs, then, brother duo The Keymakers will make your day. This time music enthusiasts have been graced with “California In The Sun”. Ahead of the release of their debut EP titled ‘Spectra’, they share an infectious tune that deserves tons of plays. Curiously, the lyrical content offers up two different interpretations. On the one hand, it is about the enjoyment of a forever lasting love phase, while on the other, it also makes references to running away towards warm, sunny shores of California. To sum up, here you have almost 4 minutes of pure escapism and feel-good vibes. One couldn’t ask for a more when you hear creative synth work, fresh beats, and great vocals soothing to the ear. Can’t wait to hear The Keymakers’ upcoming material due out on December 4th. Stay tuned below for more announcements!

Blood Orange + Toro y Moi Are Fuckin Geniuses! Watch Their New Video Clip Here
Blood Orange
joins forces with one of my favorite artists, Toro y Moi on “Dark & Handsome”. It’s worth mentioning this is the first time they work together, and the results reflect something AMAZING. On the other hand, the whole video clip seems to be a scene of a good, VHS-like film. As a matter of fact, fans are already waiting eagerly for its second part. Anyhow, this contemporary Electro-Pop cut is taken from Blood Orange’s latest album ‘Angel’s Pulse’. Here we have a short little song with deep lyrics about life’s hardships and seeking escapism. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Dead Method
Since Dead Method started his artistic career, he has been pushing boundaries of Electro-Pop. Undoubtedly, Lloyd Best’s project instantly grabs your attention with thought-provoking lyrics, music videos, and flamboyant personality. On top of that, he knows how to capture emotions and express them through singing. With the release of his newest single, he takes listeners to reconsider if “BLONDE” is the color of success.

I really love it when singers bring light on contemporary themes. This time, Dead Method explores the dark side of social media in regard to appearance ideals. With a good dose of originality, he delivers fun visuals that criticize problems in the modern world. Above all, it’s truly catchy due to the highly electrifying beats. Watch “BLONDE” below.

Think You Know Enough About Depeche Mode? This New Book Reveals All!
In the four decades since Depeche Mode released their first single, they have quietly sustained a career as one of the UK’s biggest musical exports. At that time, they’ve notched up incredible sales, such is their global devoted fanbase. Yet in their homeland, they’ve been consistently been overlooked. The Depeche Mode’s new book, ‘Faith And Devotion’ written by Ian Gittins, attempts to unveil important facts, penning a worthy tribute to the Electro-Pop pioneers.

Faith And Devotion Ian Gittins
Gittin’s book takes you on a researched journey through the Basildon boys’ rise from all-electronic, anti-rock cliche entity to elegantly wasted dons of debauchery with the world at their feet, adopting an accessible, easy-to-navigate album-by-album trip through their discography complete, with recording dates/venues, chart positions, tracklistings, etc. Of course, this will allow readers to dip in and out, depending on which version of Depeche they favour.

In terms of backstory, which is interwoven with in-depth behind-the-scenes recollection of each album, the years in which they produced their greatest works. As well as being transitional musically, with the band swapping their synths for an industrial rockish approach. Gittins also explores the changes in the group dynamic and how close the band came to falling apart due to personal issues consuming its members, most natably, Dave Gahan’s drug addiction. Moreover, you’ll be happy to see the evolution of their strong visual identity over their career through groundbreaking photos.
