SongBopple is where creators find songs built around something worth saying, ready to license for films, podcasts, presentations, and events. Electro Wow interviewed founder and lyricist W.J. Tera to talk about the six collections, why the words come first, and how to find the track that fits what you’re making.

1. First things first. What exactly is SongBopple? A band? A record label? A particularly enthusiastic fruit?

Ha! None of the above, although we’re happy to leave the fruit question open.

SongBopple is a home for SayItSongs—songs built around something worth saying. Visitors can listen, explore different themes, and, when a song fits something they’re creating, license it for their own use.

It’s not so much about following an artist as finding a song that belongs in a moment, a message, or a project.

2. So the idea isn’t simply to get people listening?

Listening is where it begins. But imagine someone creating a short film, preparing a community presentation, producing a podcast, or putting together something meaningful for an event. They may know exactly what they want to communicate but haven’t found the right way to say it.

Sometimes a song can do that beautifully.

SongBopple is an invitation to discover whether one of ours might be that song.

3. You call them SayItSongs. What’s behind that name?

The words matter.

A song can entertain us, certainly, but it can also express an observation, lend courage, raise a question, celebrate something ordinary, or give a little musical nudge to an idea we’ve been carrying around.

SayItSongs grew from that appreciation for what songs can communicate, not just how they sound.

4. And you’ve organized the songs into six collections. What might someone encounter while exploring?

Quite a change of scenery, depending on which door they open!

There’s BRIGHT, RADIANCE, IRIE, GRIT, HUMOR, and THREADS. The collections offer different moods and perspectives, from encouragement and reflection to social observation and a little mischief.

Someone might arrive looking for something uplifting and wander into a song that makes them laugh. Or the other way around.

We don’t mind a little wandering.

5. HUMOR and GRIT under the same roof? Does SongBopple have an identity crisis?

Only on particularly productive days.

People aren’t one-dimensional, and neither are the occasions for which they might want a song. Sometimes there’s something to celebrate. Sometimes there’s something to confront. Sometimes the best response to life’s peculiarities is to laugh.

The collections aren’t intended to impose one mood on the listener. They’re there to make different kinds of expression easier to discover.

6. Who did you imagine using these songs?

Creators, educators, filmmakers, podcasters, community organizers, faith communities, professionals, and anyone putting together something that could benefit from a fitting song.

It could be a video, a presentation, a gathering, a creative production, or an occasion that deserves a little more than ordinary background music.

The common thread isn’t an industry. It’s someone creating something and looking for a song that speaks to it.

7. What if someone hears a song and thinks, “That’s exactly what I need”?

Then they’ve reached the part we hoped they’d reach!

They can explore the licensing options on SongBopple and select the one appropriate to their intended use.

The idea is to make original songs accessible for a range of real-world purposes, rather than leaving someone to wonder whether they’re allowed to use a piece of music they’ve discovered.

8. How are the songs created?

The lyrics are human-written, with AI-assisted music production used in developing the catalog. SongBopple actually began with a fully human-created song, Deeper Love, before the creative process expanded.

The emphasis remains on the words, the ideas, and how the finished song communicates them.

The technology is part of the production story, not a fictional artist or personality we’re asking people to follow.

9. Is there one song you’d recommend as the introduction to SongBopple?

That’s a little like asking which conversation someone should have first.

A person looking for encouragement may connect with one song; someone planning a humorous video might discover an entirely different favorite. The right introduction depends partly on what the visitor brings with them.

We’d rather invite people to explore the collection and see what catches their attention.

10. Finally, what would you like someone to remember after visiting SongBopple?

That somewhere between having something to say and finding a way to express it, there might be a song waiting. And if they discover one that feels made for what they’re creating, well…

SongBopple. Made For That.
